A Big Thank You From Mt. Hope, AL

On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, tornadoes swept through Alabama. One of these stayed on the ground for an amazing 130+ miles. It demolished Hackleburg, Phil Campbell, Mt. Hope, Langtown, and many towns and communities before and after these. On this day, there were at least 238 people killed in Alabama. By the Grace of God, only 5 of these were in Mt. Hope. Power was off in Mt. Hope for 5 days, and more in some areas of Mt. Hope. Many people were without food, shelter, water, and basic necessities.

Our Community was devastated and we had no idea how we would ever overcome our hardships and take care of our neighbors. Thankfully, God had a plan for us. Thanks to each of you who responded to God's prompting to be His hands & feet to those in need. You were God sent. Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, gifts of much needed supplies, money, and for your time and labor.

All the people of Mt. Hope want to thank you from the depths of our heart. God Bless each and every one of you. Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and to the men, women, boys, and girls who gave of their time and resources to help the people in Mt. Hope and all of Alabama. Without the love that God gave to all His people, we could not have made it.

We have done our best to list all the people who helped on the following pages. But as you know, things were very hectic. If you know of any names that were left off of our list (or misspelled), please let us know at the email address above. It will be promptly corrected.

Again, Thank You.
